Music as an expression of my thoughts

That's me

I have now reached the third life chapter and am finally continuing what I started at a young age with keyboards, guitar, bass and vocals. Even back then, it was always my aim not to make perfect music or play existing music, but to convey my own thoughts and feelings in my songs. I was always very busy in my professional life and my music was almost forgotten. But I was able to gather a lot of impressions and experiences during this time that were just waiting to be expressed musically at some point. And then in 2022 the time had come, the start of my new musical beginning, which was to incorporate my thoughts and feelings from the three stages of my life (hence the name Brain Contact). I started recording and producing the first track in my small studio:

Tesla calling 369

During conversations, we came across Nikola Tesla's fascination with the frequency of 369 hearts. According to him, it is the cosmic key to the universe. Yes, that would be a perfect theme for my first song, but how can you pack 369 Herz into a song without it sounding too weird? Deep house lent itself to incorporating subtle breaks and playing the frequency into them. But I also wanted to tell a story with my song and that wasn't enough. And that's how the story told in the song came about.

A little robot tries to generate the cosmic key with a frequency gun, but it doesn't work. So he tries all combinations of the numbers 3, 6 and 9 and gets annoyed every time the attempt fails. The melodies that are played are also made up of these combinations and therefore sound a little spacy. Finally, Robo generates all the frequency combinations at once and lo and behold, this is the key to the universe. Robo is happy and realises that Tesla was right.

The song and its little video still delight me today. But I actually wanted to convey even more, entire stories with which I could transform my impressions and views into music. And so I spent 1.5 years composing and producing my first concept album. The musical genre is not easy to categorise, as different styles of music appear depending on the intention. In general, the album moves between art rock and art pop produced with synthesizers, electric guitar, vocals, AI-generated voices and recorded sound effects.

Dantes Inferno - The Album -

Dante's Inferno comes from the divine comedy written by the 14th century poet Dante Alighieri.
In this story, Dante travels through the three realms of the afterlife - hell, purgatory and paradise - to find his deceased childhood sweetheart and finally reach the divine light. On his journey, accompanied by the poet Virgil, he encounters many souls and their fates.

The story is repeated in the concept album, only the places, people and sins are slightly different than before.
The concept album only presents very small excerpts from Dante's work. The pieces are each introduced by a narrator's voice.

In the original story, for example, Dante encounters little devils who torment the sinners.
In my modern interpretation, the little devils are drugs that maltreat the brain.

Some people find the album a little gloomy. But the album reflects the thematic basis of Dante's Divine Comedy.
However, this should change with the next album.

2100 A.D.

In the album 2100 A.D. I try to depict in a somewhat exaggerated way how humanity will live with the consequences of climate change and AI in the year 2100. These can be not so nice scenarios, such as floods in Egypt (Signs of Sphinx) or the melting snow in the Alps (Swiss Nightmare) or also somewhat sarcastic finger-pointing at people who profit from the disasters (Deep Homeland) or people who simply ignore them (Texas to Wisconsin).

The AI is not neglected either, with the machines joining forces against humanity (Human Blackout) and almost wiping it out. But as is so often the case, there is also hope for a new beginning (In the Cave again).

The album is a varied mix of art rock, art pop, jazz and classical music produced with synthesizers, electric guitar, vocals, AI-generated voices and recorded sound effects.
